Both shallow water and deep water performance are enhanced with a dual beam transducer which is user selectable between 14 degree and 45 degree cone angle. By switching to the tighter cone angle structure can be pinpointed in deep water while fish in shallow water can also be found by switching to a wider 45 degree cone angle. Few fish finders have this capability in the price range of the Garmin Fishfinder.

Fully customizable the Garmin 140 has automatic alarms that can be set for fish size, shallow water, deep water, and low battery. All settings are also saved upon power down and are automatically restored the next time the fish finder is turned on. 2x and 4x zoom capability along with manual zoom settings will let you find fish that may not have been visible before.
